The Towing Playbook Advanced Dispatcher Training

$197.00Price

THE TOWING PLAYBOOK ADVANCED DISPATCHER TRAINING PROGRAMFor dispatchers who know the job — and are ready to master the operation.

Version 1 taught you how to do the job. How to answer the phone, book the call, match the equipment, manage the motor club, and handle a difficult caller. If you completed that program — or if you have been dispatching long enough that those skills are automatic — you are ready for this one.

The Advanced Dispatcher Training Program is the layer that comes after the foundation. Not more intake scripts. Not more call types. The strategic, operational, and leadership knowledge that separates a dispatcher who answers calls from one who runs an operation.

Ten modules. Built for experienced dispatchers who are ready to operate at a higher level.

MODULE 1 — Fleet Utilization and Strategic Positioning

Stop reacting. Start anticipating. Most dispatchers wait for calls to come in and then figure out where to send the truck. A strategic dispatcher has already thought about where each truck should be positioned before the calls arrive — based on historical call patterns, time of day, and current fleet status. This module covers call pattern analysis, proactive staging decisions, capacity awareness beyond just counting available trucks, and how to communicate positioning decisions to drivers so they understand the strategy.

MODULE 2 — Multi-Call Surge Management

When everything comes in at once. The P1 through P4 triage framework, when it is acceptable to place a caller on hold and when it is not, the hold technique with specific scripts, surge documentation protocol, and how to recover complete records after a surge without losing accuracy or creating billing problems downstream.

MODULE 3 — KPI Management

The seven dispatch KPIs that matter — answer time, abandoned call rate, average hold time, ETA accuracy, calls per truck per day, wrong-truck dispatches, and Towbook completion rate. How to read a trend across four weeks rather than reacting to a single number. What dispatch directly controls versus what is driven by factors outside dispatch. And why a dispatcher who brings their own KPI analysis to a performance review is the dispatcher who gets promoted.

MODULE 4 — Driver Performance from the Dispatch Seat

The dispatcher has a vantage point on driver performance that management sometimes misses — every status update, every customer callback, every documentation gap. This module covers what to observe, how to document a performance pattern with dates and specifics, the right way to raise it with the operations manager without overstepping, and how to support strong drivers so they stay strong.

MODULE 5 — Commercial Accounts and Insurance Protocols

The calls that come with more complexity and more revenue. Commercial account management, credit terms and what to do when a call would push an account over its limit, insurance company channels and the difference between each one, advanced motor club operations including authorization disputes and escalations, and what dispatch can and cannot handle independently without management involvement.

MODULE 6 — Dispatch Leadership and Quality Assurance

When you become the person others learn from. How to review your own calls objectively and what to look for. The four-step feedback framework for coaching a junior dispatcher without creating defensiveness. How to train a new dispatcher to the reason behind the procedure — not just the procedure itself. And how to hold the standard without formal authority when management is not in the room.

MODULE 7 — Crisis Dispatch

When the normal system is not enough. Major weather events and demand surges — triage discipline, honest ETA communication, and when to escalate to management. System outages and the paper backup protocol. Missing or unresponsive drivers — the exact escalation timeline and who makes the welfare check decision. Mass casualty incidents — what dispatch does, what it does not do, and how media inquiries are handled.

MODULE 8 — Revenue Awareness

How every dispatch decision connects to a dollar amount. A table mapping specific dispatch actions to their revenue impact — missed rate disclosure, wrong truck dispatched, abandoned call, incomplete Towbook record. The cost of an abandoned call calculated in real numbers using your own call volume and average revenue per call. How documentation protects revenue months after the call is closed.

MODULE 9 — Legal Protection Through Documentation

What makes a dispatch record legally defensible — created at the time of service, complete, factual, specific, and consistent with the driver's record and the customer's invoice. How dispatch records are used in billing disputes, damage claims, motor club invoice disputes, insurance investigations, and civil litigation. How to document a difficult or threatening caller without editorializing. Privacy and confidentiality obligations — what dispatch cannot share and with whom.

MODULE 10 — Emotional Mastery at the Advanced Level

Sustaining performance over a career, not just a shift. The cumulative weight that builds from dispatching difficult calls over time — fatigue, funerals, panicked parents, fatal collisions — and what it does to a person who never addresses it. Calibrated empathy by caller state — what each caller type actually needs and how to deliver it efficiently. Managing cognitive fatigue during long shifts. The warning signs that something has accumulated past a manageable level. And what building a real career in dispatch looks like for someone who takes the craft seriously.

How it works:

Every module ends with knowledge check questions designed to confirm understanding — not just recall. The program closes with a completion sign-off page. All ten modules, completion dates, supervisor initials, and dual signatures that go in the dispatcher's personnel file permanently.

A companion Advanced Dispatcher Written Knowledge Test is available separately — 80 points, five sections, multiple choice and short answer, minimum passing score 80%.

Who this is for:

Dispatchers who completed the Towing Playbook Dispatcher Training Program and are ready to go further. Experienced dispatchers who learned on the job and want to formalize what they know and fill the gaps they are aware of. Lead dispatchers stepping into a senior or supervisory role. Operations managers who want their dispatch team operating at the highest possible standard.

The bottom line:

The towing industry will always need dispatchers. It will always need good ones. There are never enough truly exceptional ones.

A dispatcher who completes both programs — Version 1 and Version 2 — is genuinely rare. That is a career asset. This program builds toward that standard.

Version 1 teaches a dispatcher how to do the job. Version 2 teaches them how to master the operation.
